Even the best strategies and plans fail because buy-in and commitment is not achieved. We use workshops to help you obtain buy-in for your strategies and operational objectives.
There are two reasons why we believe workshops are an important part of achieving your objectives:
1. People fail to understand “why” change is required. We will work with you to demonstrate to your people a vision of the changing world and why your initiative is required. Our fun and humorous presentations create an informal and unthreatening atmosphere from which innovative ideas flow in a facilitated workshop session.
2. To achieve buy-in and commitment you need to win the hearts and minds of your people. Since people from different age groups have different value systems, this requires a collective process that allows them to contribute their ideas and understand the significant role they play in implementation.
Our workshops are custom designed for your specific needs. We’d love to meet with you and discuss how our frameworks can be applied to your team’s requirements. Please contact us to set up an appointment.
To help you make a decision about using our team, here is a bit more information about our approach.
A typical workshop has two distinct sessions. We typically kick off with a 60-90 minute keynote style presentation. This presentation, which is packed with multimedia and humour, brings to life the issue the workshop will be focused on, and creates a shared vocabulary for the rest of the workshop. Following this, we would then break away into interactive sessions.
Our approach creates a positive environment for the free flow of ideas and constructive discussions. Every participant is involved in each step of the process, contributing ideas by writing them down. The facilitator collects these cards and then discusses each idea in turn with the whole group – ensuring shared understanding of the contribution, and finally adding it to a growing network of clustered ideas on a board at the front of the room. It’s design involves the whole group and is creative and interactive. By the end of the session there is remarkable unity.
It works, because it:
- Helps the team to deal with on the right issues
- Maintains focus on the desired objectives through carefully formulated questions which drive the discussion
- Eliminates hidden agendas as issues are prioritised by the group without manipulation.
- Ideas and information are clustered on the display sheets only after by analysed and scrutinised by the whole group. This means participants tend to cross-fertilize – rapidly building on each other’s ideas and concepts, in a positive way.
- Anonymity is achieved by expressing ideas on cards, thus separating the person and the idea.
- It dramatically cuts down meeting lengths.
- It is not the “same old” brainstorm session.
- Our licensed Participlan facilitators takes responsibility for keeping the discussion relevant to the question and desired outcomes. As external facilitators, we are able to work without agenda.
- It is suitable for all levels of staff, and applicable to all sectors of all industries.
At the end of the session, photographs are taken of all the sheets from which the information can be captured and a report is generated.
