Keith Coats
Keith is a founding partner of TomorrowToday. His skills lie in his ability to find appropriate frameworks, insights and processes for individuals and companies in the area of strategic leadership.
Keith works with leadership teams and senior leaders to explore and evaluate their concept of the New World of Work.
In doing so Keith is able to draw on his extensive international experience in contextualizing the potential or anticipated global changes for the business world today.
Keith is a highly regarded and experienced consultant, author and presenter who has presented at several international leadership programs and conferences. He lectures in Executive Leadership and MBA programs both locally and internationally.
Keith is on the International Advisory Board of the Global Leaders Conference; for the past ten years has been involved in the highly regarded Asia Pacific Leadership Program at the East West Center, Hawaii and is a member of the Salzburg Seminars, having attended two sessions on leadership.
He has lectured at Tuskuba University, Japan in the MBA program, as well as having lectured at London Business School and at the Global Leadership School of Business Administration, University of San Diego.
At the request of HM The King of Sweden, Keith presented at the Values Based Leadership Forum at the Royal Palace, Stockholm in 2008 and in 2009 was a key note presenter at the Sweden Economic Forum in Marstrand, Sweden where he spoke on global trends impacting business and in particular, leadership. Keith is frequently requested to appear as a subject expert on radio and TV programmes, having been on South Africa’s Carte Blanche programme on four occassions. His articles have been published in a varity of international and local publications and journals and he is the author of the book, ‘Everything I know about leadership I learnt for the kids’ (Penguin). Keith has formally researched leading teams through organisational change and has experience in facilitating both strategic processes and corporate mergers
The scope of Keith’s work experience includes:
- Formal presentations and keynote addresses at numerous National and
International conferences on subjects including leadership, global trends, talent management, organizational design, diversity, personal development and the future world of work. - The design and delivery of both Leadership & Talent development programmes for specific organizations and corporations.
- Consulting on strategic leadership issues at Board, Executive and Middle Management levels in a variety of organizations and corporations.
- The training of both consultants and trainers locally and internationally.
- Select Executive coaching and mentoring.
- Formal lecturing at numerous tertiary educational institutions on topics including, strategy, leadership, global trends, talent management, generational theory and diversity.
- Keith’s international experience includes having presented, lectured or consulted in several countries including Russia, Sweden, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the UK, the USA, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Japan,
Keith is passionate about the international role and voice South Africa can play in leading diversity and has frequently been invited to share the ‘South African Story’ internationally. He has come to be regarded as one of South Africa’s more significant contributing voices on human development and leadership.
Away from his leadership vocation Keith is an avid Liverpool fan, general armchair sports expert and very bad (but tragically enthusiastic) golfer. He is married to Vicky and they have three children: Keegan (25), Tamryn (23) and Sipho (20).
